Paying it forward, both for our clients and for our colleagues, is what motivates #TeamloanDepot associate John Presto. An executive licensed lending officer at our Arizona campus, Presto’s story is about loyalty, focus and commitment.

A former paramedic, Presto moved to Arizona from Connecticut, interested in changing his life journey.

“I had an epiphany,” Presto recalls of the transition. “I knew that if I wanted to change who I was and who I wanted to become, it meant I needed to join a stable company with a future.”

Presto had heard of loanDepot through friends, and was interested in learning more.

“I knew that if I joined loanDepot, I’d want to work here for a long time; and I was right,” explains Presto. “Coming to loanDepot is the greatest decision I’ve ever made in my life, and I’m looking forward to a long and strong career here helping borrowers.”

But the transition wasn’t without complications. Within the first week of joining, multiple financial issues, along with his car breaking down, put some bumps in the road. However, a fellow #TeamloanDepot colleague had confidence in Presto’s abilities, and helped him get through that challenging time—even paying for his lunch every day so Presto could focus on helping his clients.

Not one to forget such a favor, Presto found himself in a similar position when a close family friend contacted him, asking about career opportunities in Arizona. An experienced lending officer with multiple licenses, Presto’s contact was looking to get back into the industry after moving back to Cleveland to care for his ailing mother. Presto made some introductions and his friend was invited to interview at loanDepot. The rest is history.

“I offered to fly him out here, and had him stay with me, rent free, while he got himself established,” says Presto. “Today, he’s one of our top loan officers, and he’s been able to move his mother to California to be closer to her doctors.”

“loanDepot is family,” adds Presto. “Everyone wants to help each other every day. We’re all part of a team, and everyone is here for you. It’s incredibly humbling.”

At the end of the day, says Presto, there’s only one goal: “Pay it forward to change people’s lives.”
